Games looking for Players

Days & Times: 6 pm Friday
Frequency: Once per Week
Location: Western Oregon Wargamers (717 SE Main Street, Portland, OR 97214)
Setting: Modern, Paranormal
System: Modified White Wolf

We're starting a game on Friday evenings and are looking for a few more players. It's a modern paranormal setting somewhat similar to Call of Cthulhu/Delta Green and World of Darkness. Emphasis is on roleplay and problem-solving rather than combat. This will be a high-powered campaign; characters start with no special abilities but have the potential to become extremely powerful -- if they survive. (It's also highly lethal.) Because it's mission-based, it's not a problem if you aren't able to come to every session.

Players have the opportunity to referee from time to time, so this could be a good situation for someone who just wants to GM occasionally or who is just getting started as a GM.

Players do not need to have experience or own any books. Both new and veteran players are welcome.

Drop me a line if you'd like more information. I'll be happy to answer questions or provide more details.

CALL OF CTHULHU 6TH EDITION

I liked Edwards format -->

Days & Times: Wednesday from 6-8pm or thereabouts.
Frequency: Weekly.
Location: 92nd and Division (near Mall 205), Portland
Setting: 1920's, Paranormal, Horror, Mystery
System: Call of Cthulhu 6th Edition

About me: I'm a veteran Game Master of about 15 years or so. I like to go hiking and play rugby. I'm very active and get out all the time to do new things and go on real life grand adventures. I'd like to find cool people to play Cthulhu with and possibly more, like making friends to hang out with outside of the game. I play RPG's to meet new people and have fun socially interacting with human beings :)
My GM style for Cthulhu is Story Telling with 85% story/role playing and about 15% everything else. Combat does exist but it's going to be done creatively and loosely, i.e. rules will not restrict something cool that you think up.

About you: You like the about me part and totally want to play Cthulhu right now.

Email me at: fugru.com@gmail.com if you're interested, we'll setup a meet and greet and go from there. I'd like to get the first session in right around Halloween... ohhhhhh Cthulhu and Halloween, spooky.

Preston here again.

I've gotten roped into running a weeknight game while I'm taking an extended break from running my weekend game... Le sigh...

So far we've been having a blast, first playing Deadlands, and now Aberrant. For those that don't know Aberrant, it is a oWoD superpowers game set in the modern era. I've been using the ruleset to run a game similar to Heroes, in that people are discovering powers and dealing with real life and the repercussions of powers being introduced into the world.

We're looking for one or two new players to add another dimension to the story.

We play in Beaverton (corner of Allen and Lombard), 4pm to ~9:30pm every Wednesday and most Tuesdays. We're looking for people who enjoy the hobby (and RP) as much as we do. So far the group spit is two guys and a girl, so any females applying would not be alone.

Feel free to email me if you're interested in dedicating some of your weekday evenings to some fun and relaxing RP.

If you reply within the next few hours (and send your phone number) we may even be able to give you a test run tonight.

Days & Times: Every 2nd & 4th Monday 5:30pm till a good stopping point between 9:00pm & 11:00pm

Location: Beaverton Oregon - exact location after contact

Rules System: D&D 3.5 Modified

Gestalt Characters, starting level 1

Weapon groups

Some minor alterations to classes

Willing to discuses class changes to fit character concept

Free form adventures

No oriental flavor classes

No book of nine swords

Most other options are allowed.

Prefer no psionic characters (if you do not use the psionic books I won’t either)

Setting: Homebrew world set several hundred thousand years in Farun. Most gods are the same with some changes based off of events in previous campaign. New world so there is lots to explore and some opportunity to add to the world. Characters will start out in a large town near an encroaching jungle. Actions of early levels and players input will determine where you go from there.

Looking for 1 – 3 reliable players may accept more or start second game if there is a lot of interest.

Party so far

Felid Elf (F) Fighter/Bard
Kender (F) Chaos Mage/Expert Handler
Elf (F) Ranger/Favored Soul

A bit about the house where you are going to be playing. It is a family of 5, including a 14 year old female who is quite often gone, a 7 year old female who is well 7 and a now 4.5 month old baby girl. Mom is one of the players, Dad is running the game. There is also several cats as a heads up to those who may have allergies. Smoking is ok outside the house. Also Mom will most likely breastfeed while gaming. Hopefully this will be ok with everyone. We currently have 3 female gamers. Either food can be cooked for everyone if everyone throws in a few dollars, or each week a differrent person can buy the food - or everyone just brings there own. :) But all that can be discussed in greater detail.

What: 4E D&D, 7th level
Where: inner SE Hawthorne, Portland
When weekly Mondays 6-10pm

Homebrew Campaign based of the ThunderSpire Labyrinth Module. We need to replace our 4th player who got their priorities mixed up and signed up for a Monday night class.!

We are 3 guys and a gal, ages 28-36, some of us drink beer at the table, and there's always music playing--mostly older metal and rock; black sabbath, white lion, styx, Sword, metallica, etc.

the Game is serious, but sometimes fun gets in the way. The DM is prepared, and rewards players who take notes and do outside the box actions. There are occaisional handouts, plenty of hand drawn maps and visual aids, home made props, and more than enough minis.

We dont want flakes, people who get tired at 830, or folks that love to hear themselves talk.

If that sounds cool, and you can commit to a weekly game, APPLY WITHIN !

Game in Tualatin, looking for 1 or 2 more players;

We are a group of 3 core and 2 casual players. Most of us are 40+ yrs old, have been gaming since the '70s and have played together for 10+ years. We are currently starting 2 games, a Rise of the Runelord using 3.5+ and a 1940s Champions (depending on which casual player can show up). Looking for people who are;

- relatively mature (no teenage shenanigans, we don't want to be teens again)
- don't smoke (even if you smoke outside, we can smell it on your clothes)
- are willing to work with the team (no assassins working for the BBEG)
- reliable

If you are interested, drop me an email.

The Will to Game!

...or, "Dur Wille Zur Spiel!"

Here's what's going down: I want a weekly game. Bad. So I'm going to hustle this thing and see if something doesn't happen. I'm a 25 year old male, basic facts and all that.

This is going to happen on Tuesday nights, at 6:30pm. We'll play at my house on SE 102nd Ave, between Powell and Holgate, unless someone else wants to volunteer to host.

What we'll play: most anything. I've never had a good experience with a traditional game, so I'm open but unexcited about that option.

Ideally, if we start playing a game I'd like to play it for at least 3 sessions (barring games that are just good one-shots). I'm open to rotating games a lot, with a few sessions of each, or latching onto one and grooving it into longer play.

Following is a list of every game I own, all of which I want to play and/or GM. You want to play a game that's not on this list? Chances are, so do I! Tell us, and we'll figure it out together.

Breaking the Ice
Burning Empires
Burning Wheel
--The Blossoms Are Falling
--Under a Serpent Sun
Capes
Dogs in the Vineyard
Everway
Houses of the Blooded
In a Wicked Age
InSpectres
Kill Puppies for Satan
Mouse Guard
Nicotine Girls
Orkworld
A Penny For My Thoughts
Polaris
Sorcerer
--Dictionary of Mu
Shooting the Moon
Steal Away Jordan
Sweet Agatha
Urchin
XXXXtreme STREET luge

And I think that's all I have. When will we start? ASAP.

Who's in?

Starting a new game twice a month, looking for 1-2 more players. A modicum of maturity is required. The game is starting fresh today 9-27-09 so the story thus far has not been reveled. For the sake of the rest of the group I don't want to post details in case they read this. Write me if you have questions or would like to drop in.
