Heyo all! I've got four dates scheduled at Guardian Games to run short sessions with my homebrew system--The HoneyComb Engine. Although I have exhaustively tested the system with people who are familiar with my approach to gaming, this is the first batch of public testing and your feedback will be invaluable as I move ever-closer to my September publishing date.

The HoneyComb Engine is a story-focused system that supports a more participatory approach to role playing games, giving you an unprecedented amount of narrative control over your character, their actions, their relationships, and even their world.

Here's the official blurb from the Guardian Games calendar:

EXERT YOUR INFLUENCE. Corvus Elrod will be testing his participatory storytelling RPG system, the HoneyComb Engine, by asking players to independently provide major details about a world they'd like to explore and building a unique story, just for them, on the fly. So come prepared to stump the GM beforehand and provide feedback on the system's mechanics afterward.

  • Thursday July 9th, 6-8p: 1 session, 2-3 seats available
  • Saturday July 18th 6-10: 2 sessions, 2-3 seats available
  • Thursday July 23rd: 1 session, 2-3 seats available
  • Saturday August 1st: 2 sessions, 2-3 seats available

I hope to see you there!

For those interested, Taj got to try this system out a little at the BBQ last weekend...she loved it. Unfortunately every one of these sessions falls on a day that I am on call for work or I would check it out myself.

From your description, you have EXACTLY what I've been looking for
in a gaming system.

I hang out at Guardian Games on Thursdays. I'd love to participate,
though I'll bow out if anyone else needs the seat...
